Just an update - I have had a few requests for some extra business planning info;
Business plan definition, types of business plans and industry specific business plans
I will add these requests to my list and once the templates are out I will get onto adding the extra information.

Business Plan Content
I was asked earlier today what are the contents of a business plan?
Business plan contents are as varied as business is. There are many elements which are standard in a business plan, as they are key elements of business success.
There are somethings which will vary with the type of business.
For example, there are standard topics, or contents in business plans, but the answers to the standard topics and questions are all varied.
For example -
What is the business?
What is the market the business is in?
How big is the market the business is in and is it expanding or contracting?
A SWOT analysis(strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats)
What makes your business different from your competitors?
What are you fixed and variable costs?
Examples of cashflows and budgets?
How will the business be funded?
These are only a few examples if the business plan contents, but as you can see the questions can be asked of any new business venture, but the answers will all be vastly different.

OK - I know that sounds like a contradiction in terms, business and non profit in the same sentence!
But don't worry I have not forgotten all the non profit organisations. I have tailored the templates for either non or not for profit organisations and other business ventures.
It's amazing how many not for profit organisations need help with business plans. Its such a critical step in being successful and its easy to think that non profit organisations don't need to worry about it, but the do.
It is vital to have a business plan, even if you are not in business for a profit.

Well it is nearly finished!
I am just about to put the finishing touches on the templates I have created for developing a business plan. If you want to start a business, investigate business opportunities or need to write a business plan for a bank or financier, these templates will be great.
There is so much to go into a business plan but the trick is understanding what to put into it and how to structure it. I love writing business articles and books and this is one area many people have asked for my help.
Hopefully this will help any budding business person to get there ideas down and create their own professional, complete, easy to understand business plan.
The question - is a business plan simple?
